Constructed as part of the Federal Government Stimulus Plan,  this project links the new Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence on the west side of Woodroffe Avenue, with Algonquin's main campus on the east side of Woodroffe Avenue.   With meticulous traffic planning and careful monitoring, Doran was able to complete the entire project having to close the major road for only one evening.   Doran was able to complete the project on time and on budget, all the while Algonquin continued full operations throughout the course of construction.

This Pedestrian Bridge spans over a 6 lane major arterial road.   The steel frame was shipped in 2 pieces from Montreal and welded together on site.  Glazing encloses both sides of the bridge allowing students a wide open view north to the College Square shopping mall, and south along Woodroffe Ave.

This project also included the installation of services, including hydro and communications ductbanks, which were constructed up the east side of Woodroffe Ave, along with large scale hard landscaping around the bridge.
