The Booth Street Bridge Project is part of the larger City of Ottawa Light Rail Project and consists of a four lane bridge over the future Light Rail corridor and OC Transpo transitway. The bridge is cast in place concrete piers and abutment walls with a 3m high crash wall on the pier adjacent to the light rail tracks. The bridge deck is cast in place concrete by Doran, which will be poured on precast concrete girders supplied and installed by the owner. The project is based on OPSS specifications so there is significant requirement for quality control and QVE of all elements of the project. The site coordination is one of the main hurdles as it is a congested site as four separate and distinct projects share the same parcel of land. The start of the project was May 20th, 2015 and the piers and abutment walls all had to be completed by November 15th 2015. The bridge deck is scheduled to be placed and poured in the spring of 2016.
